SEASON 1:2 THE QUARANTINE SAGA
Hello Y'all!
I don't know why I said Y'all, it just felt right. This has been a crazy couple of days. We flew into the country and got to border control and all of the elders made it through, and then me and my friend elder Wandtke got to the desk and they started asking all the questions in German that I did not understand. We ended up being there for a solid 25 minutes waiting for them to let us through hopefully while the others waited down at the baggage claim. Eventually they let us through and we got to go to our apartments.
I am quarantining in an apartment with 4 other elders: Elder Behrmann, Elder Blaylock, Elder Goodey and Elder Greenwood. And they are all awesome. We get to stay in the AP's apartment and it is huge!! We have four whole rooms and it is so good to be able to move around. Plus we get to cook and let me tell you I have never in my life been so excited to be in a kitchen and just cook. And we have cooked some bomb meals, I even made an apple pie from scratch and it was the bomb.
I finally get to know who my trainer is, his name is Elder Holland and he is such an amazing missionary. He has only been out a few months and he has had it really hard, but the amount I have already learned from him has been so much and I can't wait to go to Wels, Austria and actually start serving. Oh and by the way my first area is Wels Austria and it is a little farm town in Austria and it is so BEAUTIFUL!!!
Yesterday I got to teach for the first time in German, we had a family home evening meeting with this cute little memeber family in Austria and they were so awesome, I got to share my testimony about Jesus Christ and how having faith is so important and I actually think I did a really good job. But when they found out that I was coming to Austria they got so excited and they all started shouting for joy and it made my heart so happy and I can't wait to be there and actually be able to meet and teach them in person.
That is basically it but I would just like to share one quick thought that one of the missionaries who had been helping teach me said, his name is Elder Bryant and he told me that if God wanted someone to speak perfect German he wouldn't have called me, he wanted someone that could teach through the spirit and with his heart and that THAT is why he called me.
I love you all and remember tomorrow is a new day untouched!!
Love, Elder Galli
